Indigenous Consultation

Yass Valley Indigenous Consultative Committee considers and makes recommendations on Indigenous issues.

Role

To provide a forum for support and information on programmes and services relevant to the Aboriginal community, and also to develop recognition and understanding in the broader community of the Ngunnawal people and thus foster mutual understanding and respect between Indigenous and non-Indigenous members of the Yass Valley LGA Community.

Meetings

Quarterly (1st Friday) or as required.

Voting Members

Councillors Williams and McGrath, plus four Indigenous representatives and one community representative.

Chair

Chair rotates between Councillor and Indigenous representative.
